Learn to Ride the Bus
Do you want to use public transit but don’t know how? SamTrans’ Mobility Ambassadors can help you become familiar with their transportation options.
A Mobility Ambassador can help you with many transportation-related issues, including planning a trip using public transit, finding a driver safety class, and learning about alternatives to driving. Ambassadors can also give educational presentations, conduct group and one-on-one rider training, and organize group trips on transit to interesting destinations.
Ambassadors are skilled in helping you navigate the Bay Area, making connections with other Bay Area transit services such as Caltrain, BART, and VTA.
To learn more about the Mobility Ambassador Program, to schedule an appointment with an Ambassador, or to volunteer, contact Jean Conger at 650‑508-6362, or email Ambassador@samtrans.com.
Veterans Mobility Corps
The Veterans Mobility Corps (VMC) is a Vet-to-Vet program providing free assistance for veterans who want to learn to ride public transit in the Bay Area. Our highly-trained Veteran Volunteers help military veterans discover how to use the accessible, affordable and convenient public transportation that we have in the Bay Area.
With a fellow Veteran to assist, you will learn to ride SamTrans, BART, Caltrain, VTA, MUNI and other public transit systems in the Bay Area, and stay active, connected and independent.
Your VMC Volunteer can demonstrate how to plan trips to medical appointments, VA facilities, shopping, getting to and from work, or just having a pleasurable outing with family and friends.
If you are a Military Veteran who would like to connect with or learn more about the Veterans Mobility Corps, contact Jean Conger at 650-508-6362 or send an email at Vet2Vet@samtrans.com.
